Jerky guitars and manic drums leave absolutely no space for contemplation or a breath of air, whilst Luke LaLonde yelps out an almost inaudible list of his goals. Fortunately, he has no time to achieve any of them as he's too busy writing (or entirely improvising - I can't tell!) songs like the breakneck This Sentence Will Ruin/Save Your Life.

Bishop Allen - undisputably the best band of 2006 - have gotten themselves involved in a song contest on Salon.com. If you think one of the other four finalists are more deserving of a Christmas bonus, vote for them, but trust me - they aren't! Also, I'm sure that winning the accolade of "best unsigned band" in such a tight competition would peak more than a few businessmen's ears in plenty of time for their new album, set for a June release.
